SPIEL UM DEIN LEBEN

Imagine there is this one moment that decides your entire life. For aspiring professional musicians, these moments do exist. The series ‘Play for your life’ captures them by following applicants from major music academies through their tough entrance exams. For the first time, a camera team was allowed to take a look behind the scenes of the challenging application rounds. Episode 1 sets the stage for 17-year-old Viacheslav from St Petersburg. His dream: to become a professional singer. To achieve this, he has made an arduous journey. He travelled for three days to get to Leipzig. Zôé from Paris also spared no effort to stand in front of the merciless jury today. This is the 22-year-old Frenchwoman's second attempt to gain one of the coveted places at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Academy of Music and Theatre in Leipzig. The multi-stage entrance examinations are reminiscent of well-known casting formats. The performance of the moment counts. How will it turn out for them?
